Live Sanctioned Vessel Tracking Map – Global AIS Monitoring

Real-time positions and compliance status for 400+ vessels under international sanctions

Track the global movement of sanctioned vessels with our interactive AIS tracking map. Monitor vessels designated by OFAC (United States), EU, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand sanctions programs. Use the filters above to search by sanctioning authority, vessel type, flag state, or search by name and IMO number.

How to Use This Map

  • Green markers: Active tracking (location updated within 7 days)
  • Orange markers: Stale positions (last updated 7-30 days ago)
  • Red markers: Outdated data (updated over 30 days ago – unreliable for tracking)
  • Gray markers: Location unknown (not broadcasting AIS)
  • Click any vessel marker for detailed information including current speed, heading, and last known position
  • Use the tabs to view categorized vessel lists by tracking status
  • Export data to CSV for compliance reporting and analysis

Data Sources & Accuracy

Our vessel tracking system aggregates AIS (Automatic Identification System) data from multiple maritime data providers and official sources. Location data is sourced from satellite and terrestrial AIS receivers worldwide. While we strive for accuracy, please note:

  • AIS transponders can be turned off or manipulated by vessel operators
  • Signal coverage varies by location, with better reception near coastlines
  • Vessels in “dark” mode may not broadcast position data
  • Weather and technical issues can affect data transmission
  • Some vessels may broadcast incorrect or spoofed information

Update Frequency: Location data is updated every 1-6 hours depending on vessel activity and AIS signal availability. Sanctions designations are updated within 24 hours of official announcements.

ℹ️ Data Accuracy & Reporting Issues

Our tracking system relies on AIS (Automatic Identification System) broadcasts and publicly available maritime data. Location accuracy can be affected by:

  • AIS manipulation: Vessels may turn off transponders or broadcast false positions (“spoofing”)
  • Signal gaps: Coverage is stronger near coastlines; mid-ocean tracking may have delays
  • Dark vessels: Some sanctioned vessels deliberately operate without AIS broadcasts
  • Data latency: Position updates may be delayed 1-6 hours depending on satellite passes
