SSU Strikes Russian Military and Economic Targets in Large-Scale Operations
During the week, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) carried out a series of long-range strikes on strategic military and fuel-energy facilities of the Russian Federation and occupied territories.
The SBU press center reports that these special operations are part of a campaign to systematically reduce Russia’s military-economic potential, approved by the President of Ukraine. The SSU’s Sea Baby maritime drone struck a Suezmax-class tanker, part of Russia’s “shadow fleet”, located near Yalta in Ukraine’s exclusive economic zone.
The tanker is under sanctions from the EU, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine for transporting Russian oil in circumvention of international restrictions.
Strikes on Oil Depots and Facilities
The Cherkasy oil pumping station (Bashkortostan) was one of the key facilities targeted. At least eight SSU strike drones hit the tank farm and production facilities of the station, nearly 2 million tons of petroleum products pass through this facility annually.
A fire broke out at the Krasnaya Zvezda oil depot (Tver region), which handles the receipt, storage, and distribution of gasoline and diesel fuel. Additionally, the Stavropolskaya oil depot (Stavropol Krai) was attacked, resulting in a large-scale fire.
Strikes on Russian Oil Facilities
Ukrainian drones also targeted the Yaroslavl oil refinery, the Vysotsk oil loading terminal, and the Perviy Zavod oil refinery in Kaluga region. A fire broke out at one of the facilities after the strike:
- The Yaroslavl oil refinery and the Yaroslavl oil pumping station (Yaroslavl region) — one of Russia’s largest oil refineries;
- The Vysotsk seaport oil loading terminal (Leningrad region) — two oil loading berths were disabled, and three tanks with petroleum products were struck as a result of the attack;
- The Perviy Zavod oil refinery (Kaluga region) — a fire broke out at the facility after the Ukrainian drone strike.
Strikes on Military Facilities
The SBU reported strikes on military facilities in Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions, including an airfield, an air defense system, UAV operator locations, and an ammunition depot. In particular:
- Three hangars with aviation equipment were struck at the Gvardiyske airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea;
- A Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile system near Simferopol and a mobile fire group in Kerch were also hit;
- Fire strikes were carried out on the locations of UAV unit crews in Kurakhove and Hranitne (Donetsk region), destroying warehouses with drones and their warheads, as well as ground control stations for unmanned systems.
- A warehouse of large-caliber weapons was struck in Sorokine (Luhansk region), resulting in a large-scale fire and prolonged detonation of ammunition.
