RUAZO
Terminal Overview
Description
Azovproduct is a petroleum products storage and export terminal located in the city of Azov, Rostov Oblast, Russia, on the Sea of Azov. The terminal became operational in 2006 and is operated by Azovproduct CJSC, owned by Decal and Roshleboprodukt. The facility handles the storage and export of petroleum products including diesel, fuel oil, and other refined products. The terminal features 6 storage tanks with a combined capacity of approximately 30,000 cubic meters (188,694 barrels). Infrastructure includes two EMCO marine loading arms with a capacity of 750 m³/h each, pumps with capacity of 200-330 m³/h, and railway discharge facilities capable of handling up to 90 railway tanks per day. The terminal can load a 6,000-ton tanker in approximately 12-14 hours and handles roughly 60,000 tons of oil products per month, translating to annual throughput capacity of approximately 720,000 tonnes per year. According to industry reports, Azov’s two oil product terminals (DonTerminal and Azovproduct) handled about 220,000 tons of fuel for export during January to May 2024. The facility has been targeted multiple times during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In April 2024, the pipeline connecting the terminal to the port was damaged in an explosion, temporarily halting tanker loading operations. In June 2024, a drone attack caused fires at petroleum product storage tanks, with the Emergency Situations Ministry reporting a blaze covering 5,000 cubic meters. The terminal is accessible by both rail and sea, with dedicated railway infrastructure including access tracks and a discharge ramp capable of processing up to 5,000 tons per day. The facility operates two independent storage and loading lines with separate groups of tanks, pumps, and piping to prevent product contamination.
